Since 1998 I have been working in the mental health care where I have devoted and applied my skills in the field of  arts. Through communication and exchange of information where notions and experiences of patients are made visible and tangible, the image of psychiatry can be changed. This is where art comes in. My efforts have resulted in a number of art constructions, workshops and projects regarding rehabilitation and vocation. The co-operation with several artists and patients has had an enormous impact on my personal development and my view on art as an instrument of communication. I have deepend myself in the creative and artistic aspects of 'Outsider Art' . The significance of art as used in psychiatry in its many forms regarding experiences, expressions, artistic processes, functions and effects, has been of utmost importance for my whole body of work. Furthermore I have been looking for the artistic abilities of people with the emphasis on the quality of art whereby the specific (psychiatric) illness has been of minor importance.
